Our Troop has been working hard on our Bronze Award Project: Hurricane Preparedness Kits. On April 14th we met at St Luke’s United Methodist Church to organize and put our kits together. Meteorologist Samara Cokinos along with Mr. Darin her cameraman came along to see how we got started and why this project is so important to us for our community. They filmed us and interviewed two of the adults and three of the girls from the troop. The Hurricane Special will air on Channel 6 News on
June 1st at 7pm. Our troop is so excited, we are having a watch party to celebrate!
On May 13, 2023, DrWin community team will recognize Girl Scout Troops in our area for
all their hard work throughout the year. In the past, our Troop has been recognized as a
Super Troop, Top Seller Troop, and other recognitions. This year we will be recognized for our Bronze Award (the highest award a Junior Girl Scout can earn) plus maybe some other surprises!
To wrap up our year of hard work and dedication to Girl Scouts, we will travel to Savannah, Georgia in June where we will visit the birthplace of Juliette Gordon Low. We have been planning this trip for a long time. We are so excited, we can’t wait!
